“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Steve Jobs

I spent much of my adult working life figuring out what I loved spending a lot of time doing, and how I could make a living from it. Fortunately, I found it in marketing. Marketing because it allows me to do what I enjoyed doing as a child—reading, writing, learning, educating, organizing, creating, connecting, performing, and ultimately—providing a valued service for many business-minded people like myself.

My journey into entrepreneurship began when I met Melanie Nelson, the Founder of Learning ZoneXpress. She was looking for, what many business owners are looking for—more school and public health customers for her education resources e-commerce business.

Fortunately, I met Melanie during a point in time in my life when I was free to pursue other interests. After completing my first project, I felt so much passion, excitement, and freedom over the idea of working for myself that I used the funds from the side gig to buy logos, business cards, and a website. I even spent time working on my new business as I traveled around Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia. As soon as I came back from the trip, I enrolled myself in a business plan workshop to stay focused on laying a strong foundation for a lifelong adventure.

Entrepreneurship is an adventure like no other. The ups and downs of business can take many on an emotional rollercoaster that range from euphoria to desperation. Whether the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged you to adapt your business model to offer an e-commerce presence or expand into virtual services, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you position your business for growth moving forward.
